Unanimously.

When she saw him.
"Didn't I bury him?"

Blew away memories.
Piled like dead leaves.
Rotting away.
Everyday.

Closed her eyes.
Prayed silently.
His memories,
Caused pain.

Umbrella

From torrential rains.
From verbal abuse,
No protection.

Worn only once,
At her own funeral.

Discovery

He, an advanced beginner.
Me, a novice.
Discovered sex together.

Lust

Bought himself a Ferrari.

Job

Everyday.

Murder

Well executed.
No traces left.
Her self-esteem.
Latest victim.

Bottle

Last few drops.
Her elixir to freedom.

History

Dressed in intrigue.
It beckons me.
Through arched, latticed doors.

Colors

Fought traditions.
To transform white.
In infinite colors.

P.S. This story is inspired by the news report on how Vrindavan widows broke the traditions and celebrated Holi at Gopinath temple In Vrindavan.

Unfortunately, in many parts of India widows are traditionally barred from playing Holi or participating in any other festival or auspicious functions.
This is a small, yet a very big step in breaking the orthodox traditions which have been stifling women for ages.
